Default Double din nav conversion

I have a 1999 Audi A4 that originally had the single din concert tape deck with the cd changer in the back. i have taken all of the factory equipment out and put in all aftermarket stereo equipment in. i recently pulled out my double din Pioneer Avic Z1 Nav deck out of another one of my carsand i want to put it into my Audi. i have heard of people being able to switch out the center section of there single din dash for the double din version and a couple of minor changes and being able to install the double din deck. My question is does anyone know if this is possibleon my year car because i dont think my car ever had the option to get a double din deck like the other cars i have seen people do this conversion to. any help would be greatly appreciated!

thanks

I know on my 98 its not possible, unless i were to move the climate control in place of the ashtray which is possible if your really good with composite work
