I don't even know where to begin with that, aside from saying that is complete and utter bullsh*t. There is no A4 in the world with the amount of mods you have that will handle better than any bone stock Miata from any generation. Maybe you're confusing handling with straight line acceleration...

audi's are pretty decent at drifting after the correct power is added, im pretty sure there is more power in the rear wheels any ways, i think i read one time that it 60% rear - 40% front, which means we are more rwd than fwd, i know i can definately get my back end to slide out if i want to, and thats without using my ebrake... stock 1.8's wont even come close, the torque of the v-6 is very helpful in stock form.

A4's don't drift well because the engine is so far in front of the front axle, and a 40/60 power split isn't enough to make up for that. Properly tuned suspension, and a real center diff (20/80 by STaSIS) will help. Even the new RS4 understeers like no ones business.

Post a vid of you drifting, I want to see that.

you shouldnt really do this much, but i guess you shouldnt drift your audi period... but one way i've gotten it into a nice slide is to go from 4th to 3rd at high rpms without braking or stepping on the gas, this should lock out the tires for a second and breaks them loose, then step on the gas. As long as you have the power you should be able to mantain a slide.

but your better off enjoying the g's without the slide.

E-brakes are for pussies. Take off your front sway bar, find a good on-ramp and just when the car starts to understeer, lift and drift ftmfw! If you disable your ABS, you can do the Scandinavian Flick, if you've got the ***** to try it.
i belive that applies to mide engined cars

I use to slide my Audi quite a bit with the E30 drivers in my town. It takes a lot to get sideways in the dry, as the usual methods will either cause you to spin out or understeer. The wet is very easy, and most methods work.

However, don't drift your car. You have no idea how hard it is on your car. Your stock intercooler can't handle the heat, your tires will wear soooo much faster than you would think and it's already AWD. It's hard as hell on all of your suspension components as well. Buy an S13 or an AE86 or something RWD and learn with that. I'm buying an S13 with a solid frame and clean title with only 120k on a freshly rebuilt engine for a grand, if you can't afford that and little stuff every now and then.. then you shouldn't even consider drifting at all.

And thats the end of my abnoxiously long post about drifting.

This may only be my experiance coming from a miata to an A4....the A4 is alot more comfortable through the turns...the miata was alot more hectic, wheels screeching and semi-sliding through alot of uphil and virtually all downhill....besides that the miata would regularly spin out when pushing it really hard through a turn...although I have gotten the audi crooked alot, it has never come to the point of comletely turning around...in general, the way I drove the two cars i think that they would both run about the same time through my favorite canyon....a couple of the things my miata didn't have were abs and traction control...though it was special edition w/ da nice bbs wheel package....

in the end I liked both cars alot and they both handle well, but I think in general I like the way the audi drives 10X more...just my opinion, I have nothing to back up my statements....

and I think that if the two raced in a straight line (I am not chipped) the audi would win, by a car or two at the most)

my bad if I was not clear, everything I said was based on my opinion... in the end I think we are both here because of the way our cars drive

+1 about how the cars drive, I pretty much bought my A4 for racing (auto-x, road rally, rally-x, ice racing, etc...)
