Default Driving without dipstick

Hi everyone,

Need some quick help. While doing some servicing on my 03 A4 - 1.8t I went to put the dipstick mack in and it desintigrated on me. I read in previous posts this is a common ocurrence and I have ordered the part from ECS. I was wondering though if it would be ok to continue to drive the car with the dipstick at a lower level since now the funnel is broken and it allows the dipstick to go further down into the oil pan. I need to drive the car throught he weekend until I get the part in next week. Any help would be great to get this doubt off my mind. Thanks in advance.

Oz

wrap some tape round it so it cant go in too far and yes the plastic bit at the top is common for breaking when working on the engine and leaning over it ( the amount of times Ive done that )

Mine shattered over a year ago into about 3 or 4 pieces. I pieced it back together with some JB weld and its been gravy ever since.
