every now and then while driving down the road, the oil light will flash and beep... new audi code oil, new huge filter, do i need to drop my oil pan or will it wear out, it seems that the longer i have it on the road (just finished head) the less frequently it happens.

 

You had better get the thing looked at. Audi's have had problems with oil sludging and i'd hate for you to be another victim.

 

Stop driving the car. I had the same problem. You may end up damaging your whole engine.

Whats happened is your oil pump is clogged/dead and its starving the engine of oil, which is why that red light is illuminating. Therefore, you may end up with rods, valves, etc fried.

It'll cost you 8 hours of labor at the audi stealership + new oil pump and PVCs... and thats if you didn't damage any internals. Expect to pay about $1500 USD if no internal damage for the engine flush and labor at the stealership.
