Dyno-scan software for Palm
Hey guys.
I have some software for my palm made by Auterra called Dyno-scan. It's an interface with the OBDII port on any car, where you can access tons of interesting stuff, like all your sensor readings (Throttle position, RPM, speed, intake air temperature, water temp, timing, air flow rate, o2 sensor readings, etc etc, i dont have the list with me now.) in realtime, as well as checking and clearing DTCs. It's pretty damn cool if you ask me, and a very useful diagnostic tool. Anyway...
One of the cooler features is the ability to make dyno runs. You enter in all the requisite information (Weight, Gear Ratio, Tire Diameter, Temp, Elevation, Humidity, Pressure, etc...) and it is able to compute your horsepower and torque based off the sensor readings of speed and rpm.
Now, I'm not saying it's perfectly accurate, but it looks pretty good and I thought I'd share my results with the class and see if anybody else has ever used this, or what they think about my results.
Either way, accurate or not, it should be a good benchmark to show everyone my actual gains when i chip, go ko4, etc
P.S. - I made four runs and averaged them, since the road probably wasn't exactly flat, I went back and forth.
Edit: While I'm at it, here were my stats...
Max Torque: 146@4700ish
Max HP: 144@5600
