ecu chip tuning
my buddy has a twin turbo z that he has desoldered an eprom chip, soldered in a socket, plugs in an emulation header and uses computers to tune. He has a way of emulating the eprom chip and changing values stored inside of the eprom. Fuel maps, Timing maps...everything. Can we do this with our cars? I have a 2000 audi a4 1.8T quatro. I want to know if we have an Eprom chip that can be desoldered and replaced with a socket. He also logs runs via a "consult" port which is basically our obd2. Any software out like this? Who is doing ecu tuning...not buying flashs....I mean custom tuning.....what are you using...where do I start....thanks guys..
I know how to search....i'd rather have some answers......i.e. chip size, ADR files, software....anyone?? My buddy is big into tunerpro and said something about an XDF definition file...anyone have one of those? Or know anything about emulation hardware and software for our cars? The setup in his z has a permenant wideband 02, emualation, editing....datalogging.....I need info to do this.....I haven't seen one post on here about emulated our ecu....someone has to be doing it or at least know what eprom (if any) the audi uses....
