Hi everyone, this is my first post on this forum.

I am about to purchase a 2002 model 1.9TDI A4, there is currently a problem with the electronics whereby when the car is locked via the central locking after about 2 minutes or so the hazard lights flash, interior light comes on, doors unlock and the horn sounds.

The car is being fixed at an electronics specialist garage and they say it is likely the 'main circuit board' that controls the majority of the electronics in the car under the passenger seat has became wet somehow and caused this fault to occur.

Has anybody experienced an issue like this with an A4?

I hope the circuit board being replaced and reprogrammed will solve the issue. I just don't want to purchase to then get further electronic problems.

I would appreciate any help with this.

Thats one expensive repair!! My main concern would be where the water came from to wet the board. Was the car in an accident or under water?? If you can answer this question I'd buy the car if not then walk away!!
