Default The End

After all the problems, of surging, knocking from the suspension and finally losing reverse gear, the saga has ended. The gearbox is føcked, and I have been quoted approx £3000 for a factory over hauled box and torque converter.....What a wonderful life.

For all those people that offered their help, I thank you and hope that you have more success with your Audi's than I have with mine.

Regards

Andy

that sucks dude... is that price from the stealer? you could probly get it cheaper private, my stealer charges $95 an hour labor! which always almost doubles the parts when I get the bill... such a rip off... and they go by the book so even if the job takes the mechanic three hours and the book says six hour job they charge you six? is that even legal?

Yes it's legal... Booktime vs actual time is an incentive for the mechanics to do more during a day. They get 6 hours pay - which is the audi quoted booktime, but if they do the job in 3 hours they could in theory make 16 hours pay in an 8 hour shift. The dealer gets more cars fixed, and the mechanic gets more cash...

Try a junk yard for a replacement.
