my check engine light came on and when I took it in, it gave this engine codes P1128 and P1136. They were saying it had to do with the fuel system? could someone tell me what these codes are and how to fix them?

i would get that checked out asap..running lean=bad news bears
-check maf(clean it, replace airfilter)
-check o2 sensors
-look for boost leaks

it's a 1999 A4 avant 1.8 Turbo

 

Could be:

Intake Air leaks (false air)
Check Heated O2
Check mass airflow sensor
Fuel pressure regulator
Fuel injectors.

Those are the possible causes. You may want to get a Bently/Haynes for all the proper test procedures if you are going test these yourself.
Air leaks and MAF are easy to check for. You can try to Clean the MAF, and see if the codes come back or not.
