Engine noise in 2000 A4 2.8L
Hey and thanks in advance for reading this,
In the last few days there's a rattling noise coming from the right side of the engine (viewer's perspective) and it's more intense when the car is cold. Also, I feel some grinding in the wheel when I'm turning and it's more evident if the car is stoped. A small turn is enough to feel the grinding and I stops as soon as I stop the motion.
My first impression would be the power steering pump, but the sound distinctively comes from the engine. Any suggestions?
Thank you in advance,
Goncalo

Try a really long screwdriver or auto stethoscope to see if you cant locate the sound any better. Considering it makes noise when you turn the wheel id say its probably something with the steering system.
