A fresh rebuild with a mildly upgraded bottom end should run you somewhere in the $1-3,000 range.

You must have missed the rest of the post, a gt35r would net 500-600hp but the race tested 250 shot would gain another 500 or so hp and 750 ftlbs of tourqe. Can your aba handle that? I have studied the aba cank swap and the aba block swap used with aaeb head, I am not impressed. The titainium rods would be something to be sure the gt35r and a nitrous shot that big could be handled by the rads and still have room for more. The solid lifter head is so the engine rpms can be raised to somewhere in between 10,000 and 12,000rpm with boost till redline. When you geet done with your aba 2.0 build show me a video of your motor turning 8,000rpm even.....oh yeah it won't be possible for you. I would never waste my money on a aba build to gain 24 hp, yes I said 24 hp12 for every .1 of a liter. Let me ask you do you plan on lowering the compression? If you do you just lost all of the extra hp. A 35r spools at 4600 on a 1.8t and Mike Hood claims his aba block gt35r setup spools at 4600.....hmmm. The increased stroke will wear down the block faster and wear out piston rings faster and with the kind of rod stroke ratio your talking about it will happen pretty fast using it as a daily driver. I do plan on a gt35r with the manifold and some other thing but will probably never get the head setup or rods obviously butwhen build my motor I will get forged rods and thats it which will make my build cheaper than yours. The rest of the motor can handle a gt35r.
