ENGINE PROBLEM A4 Quattro
I have a problem with my V6 2.8L Quattro engine something is wrong cuz i feel like the car has no power and when i press the gass hard and try to race someone or just to go fast and quick the engine smels like burned... i'll prbly go to put it on a computer but i wana ask u guys what do u think that can be? i mean maybe one of u had that problem and can help me ... Thanks.
1) Racing someone with a 2.8L engine is idiotic
2) If the engine smells like its burning, perhaps you should check the fluids
3) Nobody is gonna have a freaking clue what your problem is without fault codes, especially if you don't give goodinformation to us.

2.8 are just slow.. lack of acceleration is due to haveing almost no power. trust me i have had my 2.8 for a long time now.
try cleening your engine (use lots of degreaser) after checking your fluids.

#1... 2.8s are dogs. Why you would want to race anybody with one is beyond all of us. Number two, check your cam tensioners. If there is burnt oil around them (and your car smells like burnt oil at high RPM/compression) then you need to replace your VCG/cam tensioner gaskets.
haha your not gonna beat any nice cars out there with the 2.8 unless you have a supercharger. burning smell could be you shifting wrong if you have a manual or could be what heloman28 said.
Yeah, it could be that your clutch is heating up or on its way out, especially if your races have started with a heavy drag on the clutch or any slurring of your shifts. You may be wearing it out. If you want to make sure the clutch is OK, put it in 5th around 40 mph and floor the gas. If the clutch doesn't slip, it's still fine. If it starts to slip (revs go up without a proportional increase in speed), start saving your money.
That sucks man. Might as well upgrade, even though the engine is basically stock. Get a higher-rated clutch and it'll probably last you forever - if it's made to handle mods, it'll handle anything a stock engine can throw at it and not even break a sweat. I should have my air compressor and impact tools pretty soon, so when it's time, bring it over and we'll tear it apart and change it out.
