Lately ive been getting loud tapping noise comming from the engine.

Is there a way to tell if its the valve lifters or the valves itself?

 

i have the same thing. its probably the lifers. also, if its coming from the back end of the engine it might be ur timing chain companent. the railing might have cracked. i dont know as much as the rest of the people here but i seem to be having this problem myself. i was told that if its the lifters to just keep changing the oil on a regualr basis and no other problems should arise. but then again like i said i dont know as much as these guys.

 

i get that when i run low on oil. just make sure you have enough oil

 

the lifter noise should go away as your engine heats up.... if it doesn't it might not be the lifters.
