Default exhaust on a 2.8

Not your usual questions about performance/exhausts/mods etc, so bare with me.

I did the greddy exhaust prototyping last spring, and the new greddy exhaust line for euro cars is coming out now. I'll soon get my new free exhaust for my participation. Before you go calling them the ugly ovals, their new exhausts have dual tips like they should, so aesthetic debate is out, b/c it'll look normal/good. What I'm wondering is if i should bother having them install the exhaust for me, or keep it boxed up, and sell it outright, and put the money elsewhere.

Does exhaust on a stock 2.8 do anything other than make noise? I'd imagine the 'flat spot' would get especially worse due to the lack of back pressure (assuming that a cat-back even affects that at all). I'm kinda fond of my quiet car, and I hear greddy's are in the louder end of the spectrum. Waiting for other peoples experiances on the exhaust is out b/c I'll be getting it from them right when they're released to the market.

thoughts?

I just put a vibrant axle back exhaust on my car.

^ check that out

Performance wise I think I lost a little low end. The car does seem to have more top end though. I think this is more due to eliminating the resonator and adding straight piping back to the axle back exhaust. It's pretty loud... which I'm not sure I like but it does sound pretty good at idle.
