Default Exhaust?

I am putting a new 50,000 mile engine in my 01 A4 1.8t quattro since the timing belt going in my last engine practically destroyed everything. I am upgrading my computer with Joe Hoppen Motorsports and new plugs and K&N Filter. Now I am just trying to decide between a Borla or Greddy Exhaust. Or anyother brand if anyone had any ideas. Thanks alot.

What are your future plans for the engine? If ever upgraded turbo....i.e. turbo > ko4, then get a full custom 3" exhaust for max hp, or just get one of the already mentioned for stock.

A little off topic but do you still hae the old engine? If the block isn't cracked or have a big hole in it or anything I'd e interested in it.

As for the exhuast, I would have went with a custom 3" exhaust, it probably would have cost you a little less if you sourced the pipes cheap (I personally use kteller.com, but I have no affiliation with them). I'm assuming you're still using the common 3 bolt dp flange which are sold everywhere. Honestly, even without welding skills you could make it cheaper. But Borla has that great sound and all that R&D into it so they have to charge more + their profit.

Good luck and post a sound clip when you have it all finished up.

i have a neuspeed exhaust and I like it I would skip on the K&N filter thought it gives you no gains and could mess up your MAF

BTW Joe Hoppen motorsport nice stuff but very $$$$
