ok so when i was comin back from the beach the other day everything was fine until my check engine light turned on and began flashing. i couldnt remember wat it meant at the time but i was told to keep drivin with it cause nothin is wrong but it flashed a couple times later on the trip back and once i got home i checked the book and it says the cats may be damaged. so the main issue of this am i being lied to about nothin being wrong cause my engine starts to rumble and act weird when i accelerate . so should i have them replaced cause it happens at random

 

Usually, when the CEL flashes, thats bad. If it comes on steady, that is when you should keep driving. Have you scanned for codes yet? Why do you think it is the cats?

 

well when i had some stuff replaced the only thing that came up was a 1st cylinder misfire and i think somethin about the o2 sensor

 

still a misfire? check the PCM. what was the thing about the o2 sensor??

 

no sure about the o2 sensor might of been a misfunction or somethin i would have to get the sheet cause i dont have a vag com i only knew the o2 thing cause when i got some stuff fix i had them check out any codes and those came up but supposely the misfire is fine(3 different shops said it was ok)

 

well i found my reciept that has the cel codes on it ill list them exactly and wat it says next to it
code p0160- o2 sensor circuit bank 2 sensor 2
code p0301 cylinder 1 misfire
if u guys could determine wat the o2 sensor one means cause the guys never told me they just scanned it and charged me 45$ for the scanning
