Hmm...guys have removed the mid resonators with good sound results. Maybe its the piping diameter thats causing it.

All your paying for is sound when it comes to an exhaust. The biggest gain is removing/bypassing your cat 8 to 15HP can be gained depending on other mods.

On the 1.8T and even 3.0 when the resonater (what you call a mid muffler) is removed it typically makes the exhaust sound canny or tinny. Either put it back on or add a Cherry Bomb to resonate that canny sound. Cherry Bombs can be found at your local auto store or muffler shop. They are cheap muffler/resonators and will last as long as you have your car. Unless you live in the East.

Here is a Cherry Bomb aka Glass Pack. Fiberglass packed straight pipe.


You can always bycass your cats with these too but I been seeing resonators on eBay with threaded taps for the 02 sensor.

There are a lot of different ways you can go w/ rear muffler. check out borla's site, magnaflow, millitek, remus, all make good product for our cars.

i have no resonator with a remus muffler. I get that tinny/buzzing sound too for awhile, but once the car warms up it goes away.
