Can anyone recommend a good source for the 8" rubber hose which emerges from the bottom of the coolant expansion tank in the 1996 A4 2.8Q? Its outer diameter is about 1" at the bottom, perhaps 1.25" at the top, and it makes a 90-degree bend. The one in my son's car is looking old and tired and has a slight smell of coolant ... not good!

 

If you want exact fit youll probably have to go to a dealer. Other wise, any parts store shouuld carry generic cooling system hose. If its leaking you may want to try removeing the hose and cleaning the connection on the reservoir. Crust can build up and cause a leak.
