Question Expansion Tank

I'm ordering a bunch of crap from ECS today, including but not limited to a coolant expansion tank, as mine is cracked and leaking. Enter my dilemma. The tank specified for the 97 12v is out of stock. Normally I would just order it from a different site and be done with it, but i'm already placing a big order from ECS and would like to just stick with that. However, the tank for 98 and up *IS* in stock. I've compared pictures and plumbing diagrams and the tanks are the same size, shape, capacity, and have inlets/outlets in the same places. The only concern i still have is the sensor that connects to the tank. Is it possible that this would differ from 97 to 98? Why else would they have a different tank, right? Would one of you guys with a 98 or newer V6 mind taking a look at and taking a picture of or describing the shape of the plug for that sensor? Do any of you guys see why the tank for the 98 *wouldn't* work for me? Thanks!

I can check when I get home if you can wait about an hour. I'll text you a pic. If it's the same you should also be able to order the white B6 tank - looks way better

lol thanks Jeremy. That was also one of the reasons I wanted to order that particular tank from ECS, its white and not the dingy yellow color of my current tank

are the b6 tanks the same as 30v? I bought one to replace the cracked tank in my 99.0 1.8t and it won't fit the same. I still plan on using it but the holes don't line up and there is one more outlet on the b6 one than the one that is in my car..

Yeah the B6 tank works on the 30v - I did a timing belt for an AF member from NYC on his 30v A6 and we put one on his car at the same time - perfect fit.

Hey CCA4 - since you're placing a big order, I'm gonna need a new turbo and I think Jeremy can use something that will complement his new wheels.

I mean, I wouldn't reject it if you bought it now.

After all, I am a good friend. I know some people will reject it but I won't say no.
