Default fat girls gone WILD!!

ewww...cant believe you opened this thread[:'(]

but now that your here, maybe you can answer my question i think my audi hates me. i had a coolant leak a little while ago and since i saw white drops all over the top of the tranny right below the coolant flange, i figured that was the problem. i got one from the dealer and replaced it. car ran fine for 2 days (coolant level was always at max) and then my clutch went out and its been sitting in the parking lot for ~2 weeks. well i went to go start the car last night just to let the engine run and stuff and the coolant light went on. i went to check and there is NONE in the reservoir. wtf? it can't be the coolant flange cuz the engine has to be running for coolant to pass through there right? so that means i have another leak...im starting to hate this car

If it only ran for two days after replacing the flange it probably doesn't have a leak, just top it off.

k well it took another 1.5 liters of g12/water mix, so thats a total of a little more than 6.5 liters in the coolant system right now. sound about right?

Thats quite a lot, maybe you do have another leak somewhere LOL. It wasn't overheating anymore though right?

it wasn't overheating and the coolant level didn't drop for the 2 days it was running, but then it has been sitting for 2 weeks cuz the clutch went out. i'll check later tonite or tomorrow to see if it went down any since this morning (its raining right now)

it couldn't be the coolant flange tho right? the engine's got to be running for coolant to pass thru there right?

Yeah pretty much, but it could be a leak around the thermostat housing under the intake manifold but i doubt it.

I was thinking the same thing. I had a leak from my the hose that lead from the coolant resovoir to the thermostat, drove 30miles and seized the engine from overheating . It was a 90 pontiac sunbird lol.. sucky thing is it had 90k orig miles.

While were on this topic, I have a quick question.

I was checking my oil a week ago, and i saw the coolent thingy. I removed the cap to see much i had left, but then it made a huge suction noise. This scared me and tightened it back on. Is it normal to make this sound? Also what level should the coolent be at?
