Default fault codes/ starting problems

ok, so i posted my starting problems about 3 days ago, someone told me to check for codes. Well, i got this code. 1 Fault Found:
16500 - Engine Coolant Temp. Sensor (G62): Implausible Signal
P0116 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

The problem im having is that after I drive for a while (30 mins +, basically enough time for the car to warm up sufficently), and then leave it for about 15 minutes or less, i come back, I cannot start it without cranking long and hard. Sometimes it wont even start until I wait, and then my engine floods as I can smell gas. Sometimes I even have to wait 10 minutes b4 it will RELUCTLY start. As in, the idle is extremely low and I have to rev it for it to start correctly. This will only happen if I leave it in 15 minutes or less. If I leave the car alone for 30 minutes or more, it will start fine, and idle where it is supposed too. I dont get it, I changed my spark plugs yesterday and gapped them at .030. SOMEONE HELP ME! I cannot find any codes directly related (i.e. misfires). I don't know what to replace, I was thinking coil packs, but I think it may be the ICM? What do you guys think?

change your temp sensor. you can get it either from dealer or ecstuning.com it is a very cheap sensor. install it and clear the codes and wait if they come back.

so then my ignition problems are the coolant sensor? Whenever I drive it never goes past the middle area. Should I just order a new ICM? (Is that something I can install myself?) or just I just buy 4 new coil packs? HELLP, it seems to be getting worse!

Sure you can buy both a four pack of coils and an ICM, but you aren't having misfires, so that isn't your problem.

Change the engine temperature sensor.

So then the engine temp sensor can cause my car not to start correct? Is this something I can install myself? Is there a write-up somewhere? Thanks.

so then my ignition problems are the coolant sensor?
Possibly. If you searched you would see this is a common issue, replace the sensor and go from there.

Its diy, get a haynes manual or bently while you are at it, so you can find it easyily and replace it. Or search for coolant sensor here, should find some kind of write up.

thanks guys, one more question tho for a b5 1998.5 audi a4 1.8t tip, do I need the green sensor or the blue sensor, and can I just roll up to any audi dealer and buy one? Will a VW dealer have one as well?

Thanks

Just call the dealer and give them your year/model.

This one should be cheap, even from the dealer, like $6-12 range.
