Well if you read my thread a few days ago you'll know that I was having A LOT of trouble removing the stereo unit. Let me say the most important thing you will hear about removing the radio and let me say it loud.

WHEN YOU INSERT THE REMOVAL KEYS- IF YOU HEAR A CLICK THEN THE KEY IS IN TOO FAR. REPEAT: CLICK=TOO FAR. PULL IT OUT AND REINSERT UNTIL JUST BEFORE THE CLICK. INSERT THE KEYS WITH THE ANGLED SIDE INWARD AND THE FLAT SIDE OUTWARD. INSERT ALL FOUR KEYS AGAIN UNTIL JUST BEFORE THE CLICK AND RADIO WILL COME OUT NO PROBLEM.


No where did I find this information readily available. I found it in some old obscure post on Audi World Forums.


Now does anyone know where I can get a new face unit for the radio? Is it possible? Mine's all cracked and f*ed up from trying to pry the thing out. :-(

 

i doubt you'll be able to get a face.. probably need a whole new unit

was ur radio code on the radio?

my stealer is blowing me off on getting my code and i didn't want to have to deal with not having a code for extended time. if it is on the radio that would be nice.

audi should take notes from volvo. i have a 94 850 that couldn't be easier to remove the radio.

 

Not sure if the code was there or not. There were a few labels with numbers I just wrote it all down.

 

You'll have to tr to get a replacement unit used from Shoksan or dads auto recyclers.

Make sure it comes with the codes.
