atta boy haha, i think im going to just get the civic i was offered for 500 dollars, its 4 door auto..I am farmiliar with the works of cars and ive been working on my moms car and my dads truck for a couple of years now, but i understand that audis/vw's are lil tougher to work on? I think if i got a good work manual i could do most of the work myself. I will probably wait till im 18ish to get the audi. Thank you guys for all your help i really appreciate it!

 

There really not that much harder to work on you just have to semi know what your doing, but if you get a civic for 500 expect to be doing some work lol

 

yea the 1.8T engine is really easy to work on but there are always things to work on!

 

actually no thats not the case, i pay for my cars everytime i get a new one, (im on my third one) and i also pay for all the parts, maintanence,etc... but what i did was i was patient, had not alot of money to spend so i just searched ebay, autotrader, cars.com for about 3 months till i found the right one. i bout it with 115k miles on it for 6 grand. it was a 98 2.8 and the book value on it when i bought it was 9500 for private owner in good shape, not excellent so i figureed it was a good deal. well long story short came on here and the mod bug bite, so i decided to sell it and get a 1.8t and i actually made money off my last car, quite a bit so that is how i roll... not wasting money like you say


but yea im sure i could have a new "nicer" car with less mileage but thats not important to me, maybe before i go to college this fall but not now.

BadLuckAudi- The car is from my sister....its a 96 DX in mint condition she got from her boyfriends father..so it really dosnt need much work..she is just buying a new car and she thought since timing was good..she would offer me that car.

Now that i see what mj did, i might get a 2.8 and then upgrade in a few years because i would love having a nice interior vs a honda. I dont need the car to be too fast because im not that into racing...i just want a car that i can look at and say wow..this is mine..and no one else has it...thats why i was thinking audi, because no one around here my age has one. I was thinking along the line of conservative body mods, possibly skirts all around, or even a full kit, and some newer audi rims(if they would fit) A CAI and a 2" exhaust to give it a little low end sound and a few HPS.

About how much would a 96 2.8 go for?

dude Im doing this to my audi now..

 

I put 147,000 miles on my Toyota Corolla, and it ran like a tank! I never had to replace anything major on it! Toyota's are the most reliable IMO!
