What is the tempurature gauge reading? How is your coolant level, do you have any leaks? A motor without coolant will get very hot pretty fast.

Temperature is good. The coolan I believe is good, I have to check it after work. I think I might have some minor oil leaks... could that be the problem???

To directly answer your question.. That is not common... Just dont start hating when people give you suggestions on why everything is so hot, and is not a direct answer to your question of : "Is this common in B5, 2.8L, 30v?????"

You know there is a correct way to add a picture into your sig? Im guessing you have low/no oil since you mentioned there is a leak. An oil leak wont cause your car to heat up like that unless it has all leaked out. I dont think drkeman was trying to really insult you, you seemed to have taken it too personaly.

A stuck closed thermostat will also make your car overheat.
