So i installed my FMIC this week, was more of a paint to get the piping to fit than i expected but still not bad, the brackets were interesting, tin snips and sheet aluminum. what do you guys sually do for teh cahrge pipe where the DV hose attaches to? use the stock one or what? because i had to weld on an attachment, and welding aluminum is a b*tch if you don't have a tig machine haha, but yeah here is a pic of the setup, i'll put on more pics tomorrow.

 

That's pretty sexy man, I want to see it like EliteTuning's, with the bumper on and all. They tend to look demonic with the pipes running along either side.

yeah well the kit i got was a universal so had to improvise, but hey it works,


i got a stock turbo, but with the chip i was getting a bunch of heatsoak on the stock intercooler when i ran canyons and mountains. and spell checker is the 2 hours of sleep + rallying all day 1.0 lol

 

what were your IAT's logged at?

 

i honestly dont' know, haven't gotten around to gettign all the gauges yet, i just know that when the turbo was glowing after a run there was a decent amount of heat coming off the stock IC, and now its ice cold,

 

would have been neat to see you log the IAT's (via VAG COM) before and after

 

yeah, i'll get temp gauges eventually, maybe around christmans.

but what do you guys do about the charge pipe? do most other kits have an attachment already on there?
