do you guys know what the law is about the front plates, i see cars without them all the time and they dont have reg stickers on them, i either want to take it and the mount off and have clean bumber or jsut replace with an audi symbol plate, Thanks

 

depends on what state you're in. google is your friend.

I am in cali, where they have a law for front plates. I know a lot of people (including myself) who do not run front tags. It's a small risk, and gives them an excuse to pull you over. You must weigh out the risks.

Randomness: My dad has never run a front plate on his cars. In over 30 years of driving in California, i don't think he's ever gotten a front plate ticket. however, my sister has gotten one in both her audi and vw. However, both were while she was parked in the college ave. area of berkeley. If you live in berkeley, maybe you should run front tags.

 

Differs by state. Call a local State police barracks...they'll square you away.

 

lol im supposed to have a front plate but have yet to get in trouble for it and i have been pulled over 3 or 4 times and not had it

 

in NJ always gotta have a front plate its bulls**t cops love to pull yuou over for that

 

Yup Mass also requires front plates. Only exception is if you have green text plates instead of the red test. Basically grandfathered into the system.

 

Just get German Plates, I figure that is meeting halfway, you can still have something that looks good and im sure a cop wouldn't hassle you about it if it is the same as the back.

 

thanks, and for those of you reading and wondering, there is a california law requiring but most cops dont enforce i read, and there is also a petition to abolish that law, go to google and find the petition for front plate CA and sign it haha, i did

 

As far as I know the only 2 states that DO NOT REQUIRE FRONT PLATES are florida and pennsylvania
correct me if i'm wrong, are there any others?

I lived in NYC until last month, so most of the east coast has to have both plates...

 

i know west virginia doesnt require front plates
