Default Front suspension

Hi guys, new to this forum. Got a '96 1.8T sport.

I've looked through the audi recalls for this car and they have an advisory on front suspension replacement.

Mine makes a very slight knock over rough roads, does anybody know much about this problem?

Thanks in advance.

And if somebody could move this to the A4 section that'd be even better bloody newbies hey.

I don't know about the recall, but it sounds like tie rods or control arms. They are notoriously weak on Audis.

I'll get under there at the weekend and have a look, doesn't sound to loud but it's just a bit annoying because i know it's there.

Thanks for the welcome!

Sounds like control arm clunk... the ball joints "stretch and leave room for it to move around... very common on A4s.
