Default fuel tank

After starting to pump fuel into the fuel tank for 5-10 seconds, the trigger of the gas gun is released. I put the nozzle in and pressed the lever to fill the tank. The handle would click off as it does when the tank is full, though the tank is completely empty. I tried few different gas stations. now i have to keep holding the trigger and little by little fill my tank, it takes me 10-15 minutes to fill 14 gallons of gas.
one of my friends had almost same problem before he sold his VW, but not as bad as my audi.

is there anything wrong with ā€œfiller neckā€ being not wide enough or any sensors in a fuel tank, i dont even know what think ...
[:-] Please help!!... it’s unusual cold in sacramento, I’m sick and tired standing outside for this long.

I have the same problems at certain gas stations but not others. I think it has something to do with the pressure the gas station pumps the gas at.

occasionally this happens to me, what happens is i start pumping and a minute later i haven't even pumped a gallon...what I do is I start to pump and if it's going slow, I take the nozzle out wait a few seconds and start pumping again and it usually speeds up....and if it doesn't, just go inside the station and bother the guy behind the counter about his slow pump...

good luck!

This happened to me for the first time last week. I just moved the hose into a different position and it was fine.

its called vapour lock and happens when you put the nozzle too far in and prevents the air coming out of the tank while you fill up, leave a little space between the nozzle and the filler hole

Tried it, I tried every freaking gas station, hose into a different position, or even taking it out lil bit, i had this problem for a while now I think I tried everything humanly possible. I think I some older mercedes has extra line for the air to come out, it’s just an idea.

Is there a way to take apart your fuel tank, I did took off my fuel pump, didn’t help much, is it possible to pull filler neck???
