I didnt bring up a money issue with the dumpster and honda comment. I was ragging on the lights... that's all. And yes, lots of us know insanely rich 'dads'.

This forum is good, and like I said, somebody might be able to help you... but honestly, I'd be willing to bet that NONE of the top posters here have any interior lights wired up in their audi's. I gave you what advice I could, as a gesture of good will

Seriously though, if your looking for a hardcore tech forum, this isnt it. I bet 90% of the posts end up off-topic... some of them make it back on to topic though! audizine and audiworld are more technical.

For the record, I like honda's. I don't however, like the 16 year old down the street, with a 96 hatch with a 4" fartcan on it, that wakes my street up at 3:00am. Honda's are great cars... its a shame what people do to them.

Haha, buddy, read my last post... I was joking. Simply said it wasnt my cup of tea, but said all the power to you.

www.chris.offtone.com check out that wiring, im clueless!

If you want actual advice, I'm sure you could find an empty fuse... rear wiper or something to that effect, since it's not an avant... and wire into that. use lots of cable ties, keep all the wire tight and secure. Mount the switch somewhere discreet, but not in the way... I bet you could run under the center console, and bring it up into the center console compartment, or something to that effect.

and for future reference, EASE UP. this forum is VERY easy going. You can take my smart *** posts as a bump for your thread. :P Deep breaths man! Count backwards from 10... and your in your happy place... 10... 9... 8... you get the idea
Hey man, not to hijack this thread, but I noticed on your pics from that above website, that you have a custom dash kit to fit your alpine headunit. Did you do this yourself, or did you have a shop do it? I'm about to undergo the same thing for my car here soon, and am looking for the best route considering its a 2001. Let me know, thanks!

Sorry to hear about the death. Im not trying to start the "who knows richer people game" god knows I've played it before. But I do have to say...this dude's dad sold his practice for 101 million. then did a lot of investing. He's got a few mil in cars alone. (thats just in the pittsburgh house) But like i said, if ur interested in the cars, ill tellu what hes got and we can talk about him. But im def not trying to play the rich person game. We are all too mature for that

Um, regarding the dash kit, I had it custom made... its MDF wrapped in vinyl, and it came out great. Cost me 110 CDN after shopping around... most other shops wanted 250.

if your in a 2001, you dont NEED custom, they make a kit for you... i think its the same as the 2002+ if you have audi symphony. the dash kits that are available to you are just like all the others though, kinda cheap looking plastic. mine NEEDED a custom one... no aftermarket kit on the market. :P
