so i have a sub box with a sub in my car and i dont know how the guy i bought it from wired it. i also have a pasport 8500 radar detector wired into my car so that when i turn the car on it turns on and off it goes off. today i think i blew a fus cause my sound system sounds terrible and the radar wont turn on. any idea which one it is? none appeared to be blown. also i accidently removed the radio fuse and put it back in, and now the radio just says SAFE and wont play music. help me please haha

 

For the radio, you need a code. Hopefully you have it. I think it is in with the owners manual.

As for the fuse, a lot of times there is a fuse in the wiring (outside of your fuse box). As for where that fuse is... gets to looking. I would start under the hood near the battery. I have seen quite a few where the fuse is on the positive wire from the battery to the box. It would be like 8" away from the battery. If its not there near the battery, try following some of the wires for the box and see if you can find one.

I really don't know a ton about systems, but this is what I have seen on some of the less expensive systems I have encountered.

 

Sometimes the radio code is in the spare wheel well.

Take a look around the fuse box area under the dash and look to see if there are any random wires that could be for your radar detector.

as for the radar. the wire goes right past the fuse box towards the front of the car kind of right around the area of the pedals and then i cant see where else it leads to. where arre other fuses that arent in the fuse box? (for a 99.5 A4 1.8T fwd)

 

it could be anywhere... audi puts them in the fuse box but god knows where the other guy wired his. take out that panel above the pedals and try to follow it farther
