im so happy, been bad on money but got a nice job now so my future plans are.....

fixing the engine on this a4 , the lifters all need to be replaced, me and my friend are gonna do the work when i get some money for the parts [ $550 ] .

hook up a real nice stereo system.nice subs and loud interiors.

some bodywork on the side.

this is me ranting off cause im happy knowing my beautiful car will be all done up and be nice, and if ur wondering , it runs like **** and its been for the longest time due to the engine all messed up and me not having $$$ ...

BUT YESSS , I AM ONE HAPPY CAMPER!!!!! RANTTT

PS: i love the car, but its almost 10 years old. My one idea was to invest money into it and enjoy it for another year or two then get rid of it, what ya think

 

How do you know your lifters are bad? That justnever happens. Whats the symptoms and who diagnosed it?

 

I would just get the motor fixed, and then hold out a year or so for a new car. It'd be great to enjoy it with a bunch of new toys for a while, but I don't think you would even come close to getting you money's worth out of them when it comes time to sell it.

 

onepoint8 , its a long story but its somewhere in the archives.....some a-hole fixed my head after the timing belt went. ever since then , they make this tapping noise and the car runs like ****. so basically, just redoe the whole job the a-hole didnt do and make it all nice. if you drove the car you would cry. feels like i got 80 horsepower. been like that ever since. replaced the turbo , cause the turbo went bad , and it only got a little faster. sad...

So i take it you had the pistons smoothed or replaced and the engine honed and new piston rings added? If you havent, i would do that when the head is off and that should give you a nice fresh motor ready to run strong for a long time to come
