FWD vs Quattro & test drive

The Audi FWD setup is the same as Quattro, just minus the output drive to the rear and obviously the center diff, and rear driveline. From a purely mechanical point of view, the FWD would me more reliable because less moving parts = less things to break. The Quattro AWD system is very reliable, though, because it's built tough and is almost all mechanical. No crazy computers like in the Subaru or Mitsubishi AWD systems.

I guess it all depends on how you drive. If you drive like grandma, the FWD will be fine. But, if you drive like the majority of us on here, quattro is a must. I have quattro on my A4, and wouldn't have it any other way. If you're going to take your Audi up to the snow, quattro is a must, unless you like getting out of your car to chain up.
