In case some of you were never informed, the CRANKCASE BREATHER HOSE is on recall. I got my A4 used and the guy never had this done. The car was originally purchased in Montreal but I had the work done at Mark Motors Hunt club in Ottawa Ontario. All No charge even though the car was never bought there. Very pleased with the service I received. Again,maintenance and mechanical work is expensive there but they were very friendly despite the fact that I brought the car in for a recall.

 

Dealershipsshould be extra friendly when they do recalls and warranty work. They back charge the factory close to double the going labor rate.

 

I received the recall letter last summer. Since the closest dealership is far away, I got the part shipped and changed it myself (the part is like 40 bucks). BTW, I bought my A4 at the same dealership you deal with (Mark's Motors).

Did you notice any changes in the engine sound or performance after the change ?

 

No, the hose wasn't torn but when I removed it, I cut it open and the inside was pretty much falling apart. Some people have actually driven for a while with a torn hose but mine was still holding together.

 

is this just for 1.8t's or is it for all 2002's What about if they were bought in America

 

as far as I know it's just for the 1.8T's
