i know this is going to get alot of people fired up im sure.... but im going to throw it out there. so try not to beat me up too bad!

what in the world would the point be of wasting tons of extra money for premium gas when it makes no noticable difference in the drivablity of the car???? i drive like a ton of miles a month so for me the cost difference adds up quick, and being in school and all i really need all the money i can get.

I ran 87 in my car for the last few years straight, all different gas stationsand therewasnever adifference in mileage (even before the chip) between 87 and 93. Ido run 93 in it now (only because it is $0.02 more per gallonthan 91) because of the higherboost with the chip. Thereisthe sameamount of energyin gallon of 87as a gallon of 93, the only difference the octane makes is the knock resistance - needed for higher compression ratioandforced air engines. Our cars run better on 93 and perform better, due to the knock sensor and engine control unit being able to adjust (advance) the ignition timing. Running 87 causes the engine to retard the timing, so you'll loose some performance, and possibly an unnoticeable drop in mileage. If you aren't driving hard, you probably won't notice any difference in mileage with 87.

As per the manual in my car. The lowest octane to be used in your Audi must have an 87 pump octane

Why would it say fill with 92 octane on my gas door if it wasn't necessary?!?! It's like drinking a 9$ handle of vodka, then drinking Belvedere, you'd notice a difference too...

I never said not 2 and i fill mine with 93 cause its wat we got around here. It won't do harm to run 87 though and Audi states this repeatedly in the manual.
