Gas brand preference, and does it matter?
What brand of gas do you use? Octane rating?
----------
Also, does it matter to you at all, or do you settle for the cheapest gas? Please explain... would love to hear people's opinion and experiences.
I use Shell V-Power (Octane 93 as required) all the time on the Prelude, 335i, and A4. For the SUV, I just use the Krogers/Randall's gas (Octane 89 as required)

Chevron Premium (91). Only.
There is a website (I'm trying to find it) that uses research data to compare most major brand gasoline. The conclusion was that Chevron branded fuels were the purest and had the highest concentration of engine cleaning additives compared to any other brand. I believe Shell/Texaco was second.

NEVER USE MOBIL!!!
Mobil is the "ring leader" of the crude oil world and they usually set the bar when it comes to anything related to gasoline and its prices. Dont buy anything from them even a frekin twinky!
I only use shell 91(Live in CA and have only ever seen 92 on a pump) Wish i could get some 93 all the time not that i would want to pay for it. Plus... those off brand "Cheap" Gas stations usually have very low quality detergents and such in their fuels so i never mess with them especially driving an Audi.

Almost always Hess or Shell 93, nothing lower then 93 but thats partly because the next thing down is 89 and then 87. I stay away form those no name stations that always have low prices and civics, they look like they haven't had matinance in a few years.
