Gas Nozzle Gets Stuck

Gas Nozzle Gets Stuck
Is this happening to anyone else? On two occasions, when filling my 2003 A4 the gas nozzle got stuck in the filler neck. It had to be forcefully removed both times, causing damage to the filler neck. When addressing this with the dealership, the service tech noted they've had problems before, however, when the service manager learned of the issue, he claimed to have never heard of the problem and therefore, would not cover replacing the defected part under the warranty. I've been told it can be replaced for $1,000. Please help. Have you experienced this before?

RE: Gas Nozzle Gets Stuck
Were you using a pump that lets you lock it into the pump position so you don't have to hold it? In NY its illegal for the pump to have that switch on it for customers and it also kinda has to be pushed into the gas tank at all times.
