Default Lower control arm and brake question

My A4 97 have the lower control arm recall problem, but i found out too late. stupid Audi stop that recall campaine so no more free repair. not I want to know where to get just the front lower control arm cheap online. and is that a FAQ tutorial on how to fix this myself?

Secondly, my brake feels very very weak. the brake pedel is so firm and I have to step HARD to make fast stop even the pads in good shape, so I think I need to flush the brake fluid and change brake line, is there a FAQ on these?

thanks

What state are you in? Autohausaz.com or purems.com will have the single control arm for you

also ecstuning.com is a good site.

There are a lot of good writeups for stuff at audiworld under their technical section.

www.getcoolparts.com seems to have the best deals/shipping costs for control arms. They carry the better upgraded Meyle brand you should be looking for.

Also, anything at www.getcoolparts.com is good. Mintex pads are a good popular cheap pad, use only audi fluids like pentosin brand. Stainless lines arent necessary but help. Why do you need new brake lines anyway???

pads - mintex red are good and cheap ($45) or get hawk or ceramic performance if you want to spend the money (double?)

Steel lines - go with them, they dont expand like the rubber, so you get a little bit more responsive feel in the brake system. Not a huge difference, but not a huge cost either, definitely worth it.

Fluid - use the audi reccomended fluid. Should tell you on the resevoir lid. DOT5? Just use what is reccomended in the manual.
