Where the hell are you getting that number? We don't even use gallons up here, we use liters . Most americans don't even know they getmost of their oil supply from 3 hours north of here.

If a vehicle says 91 use 91. The same way you lose power running overly rich,you lose power runnin too high of octane. The most power is produced by the lowest octane rating your engine can safely run before detonation and pinging. Having said that never go below factory recomended octane as you will lose performane,get worse mileage,but won't damage the engine on newer carsas timing will be more retarded then George Bush.

 

I live in montreal.. so gas prices for us is about $1.17 a Liter... 4 liters in a gallon, that makes it $4.68 a gallon... CDN dollar is about $0.95 for ever $1 US... I think we are paying much more then you guys... Anyways, enough about prices, if you can afford an audi then gas shouldn't be the problem. I got a 1996 A4 and i've been using premium ever since I bought it. You get more MPG and as well as better performance. I got plus ONCE which is a mid-grade and I noticed a decrease in perfomance just at that... best bet, just go for premium. It's not good to switch over.
