if you take care of your car
by cleaning out the injectors
making sure the spark plugs are good
and put some good wires to ensure a great spark
then there is no problem running 89 if you are ensured complete
and full combustion, im going to be installing a air/fuel meter also
with my boost gauge just to make sure things are running properly
i also know someone that has the 5 exhaust gas meter to see if
anything is out of the ordinary, will test using both fuels

It's not only for Turbos same for all motorl like my 2.8 V6 requires 91 and up thus i gas at hess with 93....My 1st time i tried 89 and there was a knocking noise so i changed to 93 and no more knocking and on the book it says 91 and up for 1.8t and 2.8 v6 so why go lower??? Take a good care of your car, you wanted a luxury german car that's what you have to be ready for high priced stuffs

FYI

Hess is one of the worst gases (or at least in PA it is) around. My Talon hardly could run with it (then again running 24lbs boost on a daily driver is eh) and my 240 never liked it, my firehawk edition TA (super charged) never liked it, my audi, well ****, aint even gonna try after that many cars.

I dunno where you live, but our regular grade gases are of very high refinment quality, and I do not have any issues (no know reading or timing retard) running 87 in my 2.8

It is not that high of performance engine.... you people need to get that thru you head.

Not only that, the 91/93/94 fuel curve it obviously adjusts wastes fuel, from my own testing....

It isnt a choice of being cheap, it is a common sense choice, Car does not knock, Does not hesitate, and gets better milage on lower octane than higher. It goes against everything I have ever known to be true in my past cars, but this one does.

SO READ MY ORIGENAL F*****G POST BEFORE YOU OPEN YOUR GOD DAMN MOUTH

Thank you,
Heinz

I feel really horrible for this, but considering this topic will come up again in 1 month...

Maybe you should read The Bill of Rights. Yes, this is America. But this forum also doesn't get any money from the gov't as far as we know to stay in operation. Therefore, this board can do whatever it wants to censor you, just like they censor out cussing. Heinz is a private citizen, not a gov't entity. He can do whatever he wants to stop you from talking, so long as he doesn't step over the boundaries of other existing laws (think assault, battery, etc., not free speech laws).

on the b6 1.8t 91 or higher is recommended, you can use 87 in it, it'll burn it like a champ....it might not be awesome for the motor - but doesnt make an enormous difference.
Maybe its just me, or a psychological effect, but I noticed the difference in performance when I filled up with 87 once.
You shouldn't... unless you drive it hard.
It just so happens I was My gas mileage wasn't too great on that tank, probably a combination of the gas and my driving habits.

hahahahahahha, everyone is so angry[sm=lol.gif]
i always fill up with premium, in oregon it is practically impossible to find gas over 91 octane and if it is it is way over priced, like 50-75cents over regular. if it recomends premium i use premium, [:@]oh well im a sheep

I think its funny how these threads get posted on by people who dont say any real facts just "your a tard" "you suck" "your stupid" "go home sissy" "eat some cow fungal **** fluid you ego-manialcal *****"

At any rate.......

If you dont have anything to say to CONTRIBUTE to the forum it would be better not to speak at all...

I runn 92 BP gas.. and when I can get it NON-OXY 92 Octane ... the problem is most gas companys have to much oxygenates in their gas (ethanol) BP has a very low amount in their premium 92. NON-OXY has none... farmers will hate me but I dont care. Oxygenates are more performance hindering to turbo engines than octane itself...

ANYWAY... Please try to post fact with your insult... and this has been done may times before but i feel the need:

i only use 91 and up, i got angrey when my mom filled my car up with 89 and told her she couldnt drive it anymore. i think we need to let people do what they want to do with there cars and put what they wanna put in them, they will only be paying for it in the long run if something goes wrong...its an audi something is bound to go wrong and we can sit back and only say i told u so.

well look what i just found

http://www.audiusa.com/model_library...-0-1-0,00.html

"Fuel requirement: Regular unleaded (87 octane), premium unleaded (91 octane) recommended for maximum performance"

its recommended, but can even be run on 87, though i would never ever run on 87
but for any car, of course higher the octane, the better performance
