Gear Box Oil Leak
My car A4 2.0T FSI 05 was disgnosed with Gear Box Oil Leak prob about a month ago. Initially when I found oil drips on my garage, I sent it in for checking and was told about the Axel Oil Sealant defect. So, I left my car there for 2 whole weeks and the workshop claimed that they have changed a new Gear Box system so as to prevent further leakeges. When I took back my car, I still noticed oil drips at the same spot as the last time ( I have this habit as parking my car at its fav spot). Called the workshop again, and was told that maybe they have to replaced a new one again which is still under warranty. I mean, can't they trouble the prob during that two weeks and save me all the hassle of going there again . After all , Audi is a high end car manufacturer, where customers' satisfaction is utmost priority. Even then, requesting for a courtesy car here is also a prob. They can't seem to be able to arrang one, and they'll say things like " Could u send yr car on a later date, until the time we could arrange one for u??" Like this major prob of leakage is no big deal to them. I am already pissed off ....... with them
An axle seal can be replaced without replacing the tranny and on a new vehicle axle seals wouldn't be deteriorated. A axle seal damaged during the install would leak instantly and wouldn't make it two years without leaking. Something else is going on. The factory replacement trannys I see at Toyota are painted gray instead of raw aluminumto distinguish which ones have been replaced, I'm not sure about Audi though.
Axel seal or not, I guess they should replace and repair with professionalism, not having the owners going back for 2-3 times before its really considered fixed. Anyway the workshop people had said they ordered another new gear box from Germany and when the stock arrive, they'll call me to bring my car in for another major "operation". Hope they fix the leak this time around . Keeping my fingers crossed!!
The problem as usual is that dealers are independent of Audi of America, and Audi GmBH.
Unfortunately, bad service at a dealer, reflects badly on the brand. Until AoA starts smartening up and demanding better dealers or threatening to pull the dealership license from bad dealers, there will be no improvement.

Know what, in fact I have e-mail an official complaint to Germany, and guess how a fast and apologetic the local workshop got back to me after that?!. But still, with their HQ that far away tucked in another corner of the world, guessing what the local workshop is up to is kids stuff.....[:@][:@]
