Default Gear problem

I have noticed recently, that my stick seems to do some weird things under certain circumstances.

I was in 2nd gear this morning, and as I was accelerating, I noticed that the thing would pop out a bit. The car would still be in gear, but the stick itself pops out about half an inch (By pops out I mean towards Neutral).

The stick then goes down to it's original position when I let off the gas.

I know what this might be, and I'm really hoping it isn't what I think it is.

Anyone have any advice?

Mine doesn't do it nearly as much as it did now that I have a snub mount.

The tranny mount just suck, if you want to eliminate them you can get a custom brace to hold the tail housing of the tranny that will take it away. Up-grading the snub mount will also help, but it also makes the car have more vibration.

Alright, thank you! I was freaking out that my synchros might be the reason.

How hard/expensive is that? Is the movement anything to worry about? I heard that the transmission will wear out faster if one rests one's hand on the stick when not shifting. Is this related to the movement we're feeling?

Thanks

Im sure there are companies out there that make braces out there for the tranny, resting your hand on the shifter **** is a myth, there is nothing it will do to make it wear out faster. However too much slop or play in the tranny mounts can shorten the life of the syncros.
