Hi, Can anyone help??
I have a 2009 A4 Avant Quattro and the problem is that when the auto gearbox gears down from gear 2, into gear 1... there is a jerking and juddering sound and the car feels like the power is going to die, but doesn't. However, if I use the paddleshift to gear from gear 2 into gear 1, then its fine. Any ideas chaps???

 

Any lights on the dash? Checked the fluid level? Maybe put the valve body out and clean it up

 

Thank you bigdog 7373 for your reply. To answer your questions, No, there are No lights on at the dashboard. Not too sure about the oil (but I have given it in for a gearbox oil change today). The valve body might need a replacement I was told by a mechanic, But I will defo get it cleaned up first to see if it makes a difference. Thanks.

 

Did they "flush" it or change it. You NEVER want to get it flushed

I'm saying that you never want to get the tranny flushed. Theres too many cases of failure after flushing. Just drain, replace filters, refill. See how it performs after the fluid change.
