Just to ansewr your Q, the pullyes will buy you some point with the ricer crowd, but not much for the performance.

yes they would. they multiply your power. the more hp you have the more hp they add. besides a high flow intake its the best bank for the buck

What kinda pullys you talkin about, they only release parisitic loses from the systems they are on, now if you talkin bout the s/c pully, thats a different story.

apg96- Heres the best way and most cost effective. Start out with exhaust and get the supersprint headers with a full free flow exhaust and highflow cat. Then do a cold air intake ,then get tap1s preformance throttle body. Then get giac engine chip along with the tip chip if you have a tip tranny. You could do a electric fan kit and cams also.

Go to www.ecs-tuning.com to get pullies.

now to answer your question.

yes pullies relieve the loss put on by the a/c, alternator, etc.. but what do you call that hp? how bout hp gained. and the more horsepower you have the better the pullies work

if you want. find a junkyard and buy an intake manifold off of a 30V 2.8 and have it ported and polished

I guess I was going by what you said, "yes they would. they multiply your power. the more hp you have the more hp they add. besides a high flow intake its the best bank for the buck" I still to see how they would multipy the power of the engine, If that were the case, taking the belt of and running the car should produce a sh#* load of extra power. Unless you acutualy speed the engine up(max rpm's) then the energy used by the other systems will not increse. for example, the power steering uses(for a round number)10hp, unless you acutually put it under a greater load, the power steering pump will still only take 10hp. If the under drive pully slows the pump and the resulting used power is then redused to 6hp(again just for the sake of argument), then the Regained power is only 4, regardless of how powerfull the engine is.

OK X= the gross amount of horsepower and Y=the amount of parasitic loss relieved by the pullies

so X = X + (XY) or

lets assign X to be 190 hp. the standard hp for the 2.8 and lets allow Y to be 5% or 0.05

So f(190) = 190 + (190x0.05) so f(190) = 199.5 a gain of 9.5hp

for f(198) = 198 + (198x0.05) so f(198) = 207.5 a gain of 9.8hp. *198 is an approxiamte from using a True CAI

for f(208) = 208 + (208x0.05) so f(208) = 208.4 a gain of 10.4hp *208 is an aPProximate from using a CAI and a catback exhaust

for f(228) = 228 + (228.0.05) so f(228) = 239.4 a gain of 11.4hp *228 is an approximate from using a CAI, Exhaust, Giac chip

and so on
