Default GIAC?

Ok recently i figured out that my car has already been chipped after installing a boost gauge. Someone suggested that GIAC might have done it since i have an AWE Tuning trans brace.

My ? is how do i find out if its GIAC? I called a local dealer and he couldn't answer any of my questions.

You can pull the ECU and look inside. Post a picture and we may be able to tell.

When you get flashed they normally dont put a sticker on the ecu box. Best way would be to give AWE or giacusa your ecu part #.

There are no stickers on the ecu that i seen when i was installing the boost gauge. I just got a call back from one of the dealers that i called and the guy tried telling me that it will cost me about $45 for them to check. I am going to email GIAC with my ecu and vin #'s and see what happens.

You saw the weatherproof box when you installed the boost gauge. You need to open the box to see the ECU. You will need to open the ECU to see the chip and soldered on socket.

Well i just talked to the more "reputable" GIAC dealer in IL. and they are telling me that its going to cost me $45 to find out if i have there software. If i do have their software then it is going to cost me an additional $495+labor to update the software.[:@] This is complete bullshi!!!!! Why should i pay for the software when its already paid for AND INSTALLED. GIAC has not made a very good impression on me for being such a large reputable company.
