Just bought a used A-4 w/GIAC stage 1 chip(which by the way has really spoiled me).It has around 36,000 miles so I still have left the 40,000 Audi Advantage Warrantee Scheduled Maintenance.Am I asking for trouble by doing so if they discover the chip? Will I be getting a call at work saying they finished the service work and since the car is chipped they'll be charging me $$$$ because the chip has voided the warrantee? Or am I paranoid? Thanks out there!!

A car being chipped wont void your entire waranty. The service will still be covered. Now if your turbo goes bad or your clucth starts slipping, they wont have to cover that.

 

yea im in the same situation, i got my 40,000 mile service in a month or so n my car is chipped. how do i kno if my turbo is givn out n if it does how much would audi charge me? and are u guys SURE the service is covered.

 

Get a boost gauge to determine if your turbo is operating right.. And listen for noises taht sound bad of course. They wont find out about the chip unless they hook up diagnostic equiptment. Of course if they do test drive it, they'll know if its chipped or not, unless you have the "special feature" which hides it so they cant prove it.

 

GIAC can have hidden software, and APR is always completely undetectable.
