My local shop told me to get the 5bar FPR for the basic K04 package.

The PC-16 would required the biggere fuel injectors and checking things like MAF and such. FMIC recommended but not required.

I currently have the basic K04 chip installed.

Did you change your spark plugs to one step colder?

And did you replace your N75 valve?

I have NGK BKR7EIX, which is one step cooler. I have not swapped out the N75, but I will try that tonight. I've got a couple of cars to use to swap parts. [8D]

Just get a mbc if you end up having to buy a n75 valve... or get one anyway.

I've got one, but that may not be the problem. I don't want to treat the symptoms, but the cause.

I do have the 5 bar fpr. The GIAC file I'm using is 2001 A4Passat 18T k04-15- 018chk05_K0415_5bar_3X5x_4B0906018.

We're beginning to think it may be an exhaust flow issue, though I'm not 100% convinced. I'm using the stock exhaust, which could be causing backpressure enough to stall the turbo a little. I'm going to use Lemmiwinks to set the max boost (Channel 12) to 85% and see if that clears things up. In stock mode, I have no problem, but I'm only boosting to 12 psi.
