OK here's the situation:

No more knocking/rattling, but about 4 days after getting chipped the there is jerking/sputtering around 3-3.5K once the car has been driven around awhile. Over the past few days the problem has been more noticeable (happens very often but not always, esp. in higher gears, so it seems boost related). I still have extra power, though, except for the boost tease-and-jerk.

So...Pulled codes, there were none. Mechanic sez yep there's a "hole" around 3K (no ****!), and wants to re-flash the chip. Sounds ok, but with no codes, is this really gonna solve the problem? My gut tells me its mechanical.

What do you guys think? How common is chip re-flashing?

Plugs are old n'ready to be changed...
I brought this up w/the mechanic who said plugs would cause a faster sputtering rather than several sudden jerks.
