glove compartment won't come open
I have a stupid problem that just happened. My glove compartment won't come open. Its not locked and the latch seems to work but it still won't open. Any idea how to remedy this problem?

haha, no but uh...some part of the latch mechanism def broke....i would try to pry it open a tad with one screwdriver, look for where the hook/latch is (or whatever keeps it closed), and unhook it with another screwdriver. Then prob order a new part.
This just happened to me last week. It usually happens because something got in the way of full closure and it locks everything up. I had to grab the top of the glove box and pull down. It broke the right side latching shroud. There is a kit sold by Audi to fix these two spots where the latches catch it is 9 dollars from the dealership. I got a quote for the whole glove compartment just in case and that was $550 so cross your fingers.

Good news guys I have solved the problem. This is what I did: I removed the small side panel on the right side of the glove box with the 2 tabs that are there. Then once removed you can see everything and all I had to do was push in the spring loaded button on the top that holds the glove box in and also pull down on it and voila open sesame. Sweet just oiled all the movable parts and it sould be fine again. Don't be forceful and break your glove boxes people.
