Rotten eggs smell can be a sign of a bad or clogged cat (catalytic converter)-not your neighbors cat... Unburned sulffer deposits. That kind of odor can easily make its way into the cabin.

check your airbox too, not that that is really connected to the interior. My moms Mazda 6 had a mouse dead mouse in the airbox when I went to change the filter
