Goin Carbino!

Goin Carbino!
Time for me to order my Carbino intake. Decided against airbox mod - and this seems to be the best way to go. Aside from the price (which I think I'm okay with), any reason not to go this route? Anybody on here have one on their B5? I know KarlMarx has one on his B6...

I just can't justify that kinda cash on a mod that really won't make much difference. I'd rather make my own from home depot and a K&N. I don't see why it would be a problem though, I mean they must have done some extensive R&D for that price.

Get one and then get or make a heat shield
Personally I run the stock airbox...

Well, I read too much about people loosing boost after the mod (which I know is common with an intake on this engine) but I heard carbino was the one intake that didnt do that. Looks a whole lot better than a bunch of (hidden) holes, its gonna sound mean as hell, annnnd I can afford it.

Yeah but even the site that originally posted a similar version to Beer Mod's mod said that numerous people experienced loss of boost. I looked around on the zine archives too and some recommended against it.
